Curacao hosts first international investment summit
WILLEMSTAD – Curacao will be organizing its first international investment summit from December 3 to 5. The Curacao International Investment Summit (CIIS) is intended to attract foreign investors to the island.
The event will take place at the Marriott Beach Resort under the auspices of the Ministry of Economic Development. Over three hundred participants from more than fifteen countries are expected, as well as eighty speakers and thirty companies. The theme is 'Curaçao: Your Hub for Global Trade & Investment '.
Focus on seven sectors
The summit focuses on seven sectors: financial services, sustainable energy, tourism, technology, real estate, creative industries and the blue economy.
The latter includes sustainable business activities on and around the sea, such as maritime logistics and aquaculture. Capital markets and financing opportunities are also discussed, in cooperation with the Dutch Caribbean Stock Exchange.
Networking and matchmaking
The program offers business matchmaking, networking sessions and market insights. An exhibition space shows what Curacao has to offer. The final part 'Invest in Willemstad' highlights opportunities in the city center: from urban development to tourism and culture.
GEP Americas is organizing the summit. This company also organized the Suriname Energy Oil & Gas Summit and the Naturgas Congress in Colombia. Curacao profiles itself as an attractive investment location due to its strategic location, multilingual workforce and favorable tax regulations
