CINEX and Stakeholders Usher in a Landmark Year of Global Conferences, Culminating in Curaçao’s First-Ever Curaçao International Investment Summit
Willemstad, Curaçao In a show of unity and forward-thinking collaboration, CINEX and stakeholders MEO, AQUALECTRA, BLUE NAP AMERICAS, CTB, METEO, Curaçao Dolphin Therapy & Research Center gathered on March 27 at the Mongui Maduro Library to announce a lineup of international conferences that will position Curaçao as a strategic hub for investment, innovation, and sustainable development throughout 2025.
The press conference was opened by the Minister of Economic Development (Demissionary), Mr. Charles Cooper, who spoke on the economic potential these conferences bring to the island and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that drive long-term growth and diversification.
Following his remarks, Mr. Miles Mercera, CEO of CINEX, underscored the agency’s mission and the national significance of the events ahead:
“Our mission at CINEX is to put Curaçao on the map and attract high-quality investors and investments to our island. That’s why hosting these types of conferences is so important. The spin-off effects will benefit our entire country, and that is our job at CINEX.”

The press conference showcased a united front, with key contributions from several prominent representatives. Neysa Isenia of Aqualectra, Danilo Zabala of Blue Nap Americas, Muryad de Bruin of the Curaçao Tourist Board, and Jeannette Pot of the Curaçao Dolphin Therapy & Research Center each emphasized the significance of the upcoming events for Curaçao. Danilo Zabala announced the launch of a groundbreaking new technology, a first for the Caribbean region, which will be introduced during the Caribbean Data Center Association Annual Event. This innovation is designed to strengthen digital data protection; an important step forward in regional tech advancement. Ms. Neysa Isenia emphasized that Curaçao has long been a destination of many “firsts,” recognized for its spirit of innovation and its role as a launchpad for impactful initiatives. She noted that this reputation is precisely why conferences like Caribbean Climate and Energy Conference are choosing Curaçao, and why it is important for Aqualectra to be actively involved. Mr. Muryad de Bruin highlighted Curaçao’s unique appeal as both a leisure destination and a business hub, making it the perfect setting for major events like CHICOS, which will bring key global players from the hotel industry to the island; an important opportunity to showcase Curaçao’s potential in hospitality and investment.
Together, they reinforced the importance of these conferences in contributing to Curaçao’s overall economic development, showcasing the island’s role as a forward-thinking and collaborative partner in regional growth.
